Our Commitment to the Environment

As an organization, we're always looking for ways to improve our environmental consciousness and to be stronger environmental stewards.

We've embarked on two over-arching goals in our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship.

The first is to constantly explore new technologies and develop new materials that are consistent with our environmental goals. We want our customers to feel confident they've selected a cabinetry brand that comes from a company who is working to preserve the quality of our environment.

Secondly, we're diligently searching for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Including implementing energy efficiency measures in all of our facilities, recycling materials, improving indoor air quality and taking waste reduction measures. Through these efforts, Merillat is now certified through the KCMA environmental stewardship program. Additionally, we were the first cabinetry organization to be certified company-wide with the world class environmental management manufacturing standards of ISO14001.

In 2006, with the success and overwhelming support of our employees, we implemented our Tomorrow's Thinking Today program. This program includes a team of managers who exclusively focus on environmental, health and safety in each of our facilities. They work with employees in finding ways to reduce our carbon footprint in every facility. Through the Tomorrow's Thinking Today Program, we've instilled an organization wide culture for our employees to be directly involved in developing solutions that have a positive impact on our organization and the environment.
