Merillat Classic Line Expansion Offers New Options in Style and Quality

ADRIAN (Mich.) – Merillat has expanded Merillat Classic, building on a great tradition of quality construction, timeless designs and a wide variety of options. Introduced in January 2009, the expansion included a new finish as well as product enhancements. The additions are just another example of Merillat’s continuing effort to provide a competitive advantage while giving designers, builders and homeowners even more design flexibility. The new offerings were displayed in Merillat’s booth during the 2009 International Builders’ Show.

New Finish

The Kona finish is the newest addition to the already extensive Merillat Classic offering. “This translucent, deep brown finish addresses the trend toward a darker, richer and bolder look,” said Paul Radoy, manager of design services for Merillat.

Available on Maple, Kona is a gracious complement to the wood’s smooth, closed grain. It works with a variety of room décors and blends beautifully with contrasting finishes. Kona is available on all Merillat Classic door styles, and raises the total Maple offering to five standard finishes and 14 color choices including glazes.

Product Enhancements

Enhanced Warranties:

Merillat strives to manufacture products of the highest quality and most sound construction in the industry. To that end, the Merillat Classic warranty has increased from a limited 5-year to a limited 25-year warranty. Likewise, Merillat Essentials has increased from a 1-year limited warranty to a 5-year limited warranty.

New Standard Shelf:

Shelving in standard Merillat Classic cabinets has changed from 5/8" shelving to 3/4" shelving for improved durability and quality. Deflection testing (the ability of the substrate to resist bowing) indicates that the thicker shelf reduces the amount of deflection significantly as compared to the current 5/8" shelf. This improvement is evidence of Merillat’s commitment to continually improve quality and durability.
