In Living Color: Explore the Design Palette

Green is in, and the Design Showcase embraces greens. Designer Ingrid Leess explains "the greens you see are not all the same. None of them match, but all complement each other—sort of like the different greens found in nature." Textures and colors are at the heart of the home, with a combination of dark, light and white hardwood cabinets, quartz countertops, a wood-like floor, realistic faux-stone walls and grained-wood trim—all playing off the dominant green. Firm cushions and soft pillows define the dining area, placed under a large circle-head window. Graphic, brightly-colored fabrics with patterns suggesting organic shapes bring elements of fun and liveliness. To offset these organic colors, textures, and shapes, chrome hardware adds a note of refinement.

Moving to the bath, you'll find even more interesting surfaces, textures, and styles. An Asian-inspired freestanding tub is contrasted by a large painted cypress barn-door entry. Contemporary hardware and sinks are opposed with stones under glass. An exterior stone wall is a distinct contrast with clean white cabinetry. And fresh tile is offset by a natural tree element. Everywhere you look there is a sense of inside and out, comfort and freshness.

The Design Showcase was a joint effort with designers Ingrid Leess, Paul Radoy, and Nellie Ondrovick.
