Cabinet Ideas for the Mudroom
Coming and going equals wear and tear - and often means a mess
near the back door. Since mudrooms see so much traffic, they are
excellent candidates for built-in cabinetry. It just takes some
imagination.
“Cabinetry is like a jigsaw puzzle with all of the parts and
pieces to fit together,” says Merillat’s New Product Design
Manager. “And it often takes someone like a designer who knows
how to put components together for the best ergonomics,” he
notes. But you can get creative, too! Imagine how attractive - not
to mention organized - your second entryway could be. These examples
show how cabinetry can help organize clutter, minimize dirt and make
items easy to find.
- A row of Spice Drawer Organizers provides a place to
stash keys, wallets, sunglasses, flashlights and other items
you might need to grab on the way out. Great spot for an extra
first aid kit, too.
- Organizers keep shoes and boots in their place, as well
as mittens, hats, and sports gear.
- Wall cabinets become lockers to hang yard work clothes,
play clothes, umbrellas and pet leashes, or store golf clubs,
tennis racquets and baseball bats.
- A built-in bench is handy for removing soiled shoes, while
cabinets below it hold towels, rags and other extras.
- By conserving all this space, youÕll have more room for
a drying rack for wet clothes!
